Details of Natural Pet Supplements - Adrenal Support
Cushings Disease is a chronic disease that has varied causes, usually it is caused by a tumour in the pituitary or adrenal glands. The excessive adrenal hormones that circulate in the body cause a range of unwanted effects. Such as panting, pot belly, reduced energy, excessive thirst and urination, coat and skin issues and reduced immunity.
Adrenal Support has been designed by a small animal naturopath to provide the herbal support needed for the body to be able to function as normally as it can. The formula's primary aim is to reduce the unwanted side effects of excess stress hormones, whilst increasing quality of life.
Herbs unlike drugs do not increase or decrease adrenal function, instead they promote optimisation and normalisation of the adrenal glands. Adrenal Support targets the HPA (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal) axis to strengthen the body's internal feedback mechanisms.
This action will often result in positive changes being seen within the first few weeks. But it will take up to 3 months to see the full effects of the formula. If positive changes haven't been seen in this time, please contact us for increasing dosing recommendations.
If Cushings Disease is left untreated it can lead to diabetes or heart issues. Ongoing Veterinary checks are essential in Cushings Disease.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You cannot use Adrenal Support with blood thinning medications. Caution use with medications used for Cushing's disease (can be used with vetoryl but make sure regular blood tests are done as an eventual reduction may be needed). An examination from a veterinarian is recommended prior to using this product.

How long until I see results with the Adrenal Support?
That depends, There are many factors that influence how quickly you will see results. Such as severity of condition, immune status, diet, stress levels, age, breed etc.
Some customers have seen an improvement within 3 days. If your Pet hasn't been on herbal medicines for Cushing's Disease before, it will take up to 3 months to see the full effects of the formula. But most people observe improvements in energy first and a reduced pot belly second. Muscle tone is generally the last symptom to improve.
As herbal medicine is aimed at fixing the root cause of the illness instead of just negating symptoms, it is not instant. Patience is key, but if you aren't seeing results after 12 weeks, please contact us and we can reformulate the medicine to suit your pets individual needs, or you may have to increase the dosage.
What If My Dog Or Cat Doesn't Like The Taste?
Our herbal formulas are flavoured with a smoky bacon taste, and 98% of herbs are in a glycerine base, but the pungency of some herbs may still be present.
Mixed into food is the easiest way for most pets, if not you can squeeze into the side of their mouth or mix into a treat like peanut butter, ricotta cheese etc.
Persistence is the key, you can always try to work up to the recommended dosage over a week or so.
