Vitamin C, also known as L-ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement. Humans, unlike most animals, are unable to synthesize vitamin C endogenously, so it is an essential dietary component.

Back in mid 80’s an article in the British Medical Journal related to doctors in the UK successfully treating and reversing arterial plaque with large doses of sodium ascorbate – Wonder what prompted them to not tell the public….

I’ve used high doses of vitamin c to cure ewes post lambing. Ewes will go down with stiff back legs, after 3 days I can’t catch them in the yard to administer the vitamin. I use vitamin c for young lambs to give them a boost, does wonders.

I highly recommend this Vitamin C. We purchased this for a 12 week old pup who’s immune system needed support (mild localised demodex and was down on his pasterns/splayed feet). Having already started other immune-boosting supplements, I needed a Vit C that was odourless, tasteless and able to be sprinkled on his food. Also had to be the non-calcium salt of ascorbic acid (ie not calcium ascorbate), as this was during a peak growth time and giving another source of calcium to a growing puppy is risky. This was the only Vit C product on the market (human or pet) that was suitable!!! Customer service from Greenpet was very good and the screw top container great.
